The Town is working with residents and septic pumping contractors

to save residents money while protecting our water quality!

Experts recommend routine (non-emergency) septic pumping every two years for passive septic systems.

Pumping removes solids, preserves your leach field and ensures that healthy effluent is leaving your property.

This is great for our lakes, streams and wetlands.

It is also better for your neighbor’s well and your own.

Routine tank pumping for up to and including 1000-gallon tanks

is $351.00 including tax.

Property owners must locate their tank and uncover the lid or lids.

Many tanks have more than one lid and the best practice

is to pump them out thru each lid (either side of the baffles).

The Town of Nelson Watershed Management Committee wants to be sure we continue to have pristine watersheds for generations to come.  Healthy waterbodies are good for our property values and enhance outdoor enjoyment of our beautiful Town!

A properly functioning septic is one step toward that goal.
